what's in a name?

The name Dappled Glory was inspired by Gerard Manley Hopkins' poem, Pied Beauty, serving as a reminder that God's glory is waiting to meet us is in every small & diverse aspect of creation,
including ourselves & our neighbors.

Hey There, I'm Chanelle

Hey There, I'm Chanelle

- the face behind all things Dappled.
I'm a former globetrotter and missionary, now stay-at-home- mom, with a need to create.
As if being home schooled throughout high school didn't make me weird enough, I slapped puff paint on shirts and wrote things like "Transubstantiation" or "Get Giddy for God" on them.

There's a lot of chaos in our world right now, and what better time to share the Truth of the Gospel?
As the play on the (misattributed?) St. Francis of Assisi quote goes:
"Preach the Gospel at all times, when necessary use a t-shirt."
So I'm back to my roots making shirts, but this time I've graduated from puff paint. 😉

The Gospel is being used in all sorts of false & dangerous ways & my aim with Dappled Glory is to stand up for Truth, Love, Mercy, & Catholic Social Teaching.

"An individual can march for peace or vote for peace and can have,
perhaps, some small influence on global concerns.
But the same individual is a giant in the eyes of a child at home.
If peace is to be built, it must start with the individual.
It is built brick by brick."

A Family Rooted Mission

A Family Rooted Mission

As a mom, I want to do my small part in making the world a better place for my kids and grandkids - both faithfully and physically since we are both spiritual and physical creatures.
That is why I partner with eco-conscious suppliers to create organic cotton for our clothing, biodegradable phone cases (the amount of plastic wasted in that department is alarming), toxin-free candles, and printing all of our products to order - to avoid overproduction and waste.
All products are designed by me, but fullilled and shipped to you by my trusted suppliers based in the U.S.

Here's to sharing our faith with the world, in a way that honors our responsibility as stewards of the earth as well.

together, let's meet & share god's love in our every day
